|
ADVANCE INSERT INSTALLATION SYSTEM |
-
Miyakoshi's offset insert mounting system
offers easy engagement and disengagement of print cartridges for transfer
to and from the transporter.
-
Optionally, Miyakoshi robotizes the change
of offset inserts, offering the operator remote control of the size change
process. This accessory includes transporters which are guided by computer
control on a special track between the print towers and storage racks. The
transporter is remotely dispatched to collect an insert from the offset
tower, load another size insert from the storage rack and convey it to the
designated print tower into position for automatic lockup.
-
The offset cassettes can also be
changed manually by use of hydraulically operated transport cart and rack
system.

DRYING
ALTERNATIVES |
-
High-speed drying is a necessity on coated
stock and on uncoated stock where remoisten glue or coatings are applied.
Gas dryers are the commonly specified alternative for high speeds on
coated papers. A complete range of gas dryers and accessories is
available on the BCR-26, including automatic web temperature controls and
chill stands.
-
Ultraviolet drying has become a viable
alternative to headset. U. V. can be specified as the main curing source
or in combination with gas drying where clear over coatings or other U. V.
curable substances are to be used.

|
CHANGEABLE SIZE BLANKET-TO-BLANKET PRINT TOWER |
-
Miyakoshi has combined its extensive experience in the techniques of forms
printing with the requirements of commercial printing to consistently
produce materials of superior register and quality.
-
The plate cocking design is a first on a changeable size perfector.
Static or running cocking of the plate cylinder compensates for skewed
plate burns or plate bend irregularities.
-
Print cylinders are heavy chromed and equipped with wide, hardened steel
bearers. Gears are ground, hardened and polished for the utmost precision.
Remote, motorized circumferential register and side lay are standard
features.
-
An advanced inking system includes provision for cooling all vibrator
rollers. The optional Miyakoshi DP inking system with segmented ink
fountain blades and ink key adjustment slides permits exact ink profile
setting and provides an empirical basis for repeatability of ink
coverage. Form rolls automatically adjust to new insert sizes when
changing cut-oft.
-
The dampener is
a continuous, alcohol design from Miyakoshi. Alternate dampener designs
are available, such as brush or spray.

FINISHING AND DELIVERY SYSTEMS |
-
Direct mail markets have multiple product finishing needs:
-
Cut sheets, folded inserts, continuous letterheads, die-cut membership
card carriers, etc. Miyakoshi responds with a broad range of commercial
and direct mail finishing and delivery accessories.
-
Conventional roll-to-sheet production is offered employing a variable
cut-off sheeter equipped with receding pile delivery. Flat sheet
production can be expanded with a jaw folder assembly to produce 4-page
folded signatures in popular North American and ISO sizes.
-
The Miyakoshi
sheeter/folder is enhanced by a high-pile receding delivery table, taking
piles up to 50 inches tall, and offering continuous operation via
retractable air bars. Pile descent can be adjusted by speed response for
various paper weights.
-
Inline signature finishing possibilities can be extended with the addition
of folding attachments to deliver 8-page and 16-page signatures.
-
Plow folding stations and commercially available prefolders
can be installed prior to the cut off.
-
The BCR-26 model is available with a full range of forms processing. All
functions are offered in size repeats as described in the BCR-26
specifications.
-
Variable size fan folding into packs as well as rewinding into 40 inch or
50 inch rolls for personalization or for further processing are common
options for direct mail products.

|
MAIN
CONTROL PANEL |
-
The standard operator control console
includes functions for vertical and horizontal registration, dampener
controls; dryer and chill controls, counters, tachometer and power monitor
displays. Auxiliary functions such as automatic color and register
controls, web guiding switches and splicer remote controls can be
incorporated into the panel. Error message readout on the main panel
guides the operator to corrective action if a problem occur.
|
|
UNPRECEDENTED VERSATILITY |
-
Compute assists are added to
press functions where useful to shorten make-readies and support quality.
-
To solve the problem of
interchanging massive print inserts, a robotics-based option permits the
interchangeability of four inserts in less than ten minutes.
-
Registering of print inserts to
cut-off is automated for quick setup of new sizes.
-
Skills acquired in the
commercial printing and forms markets enable Miyakoshi to offer automated
make-ready and quality control features for both printing and processing
functions.
